Missional Projects in CH

Western culture has shifted from Christendom to post-Christendom, and from modernity to post-modernity. The Christian story is becoming unknown to many; church structures and concepts no longer fit as the Christian faith lose its coherence within society as a whole. The great stories by which our lives have been ruled do not matter any longer. Everybody’s story matters and everybody needs to interpret it. Knowledge is generated through the ability to connect different realities and perceptions. Post-Christendom and post-modern Western society challenges Christians to think creatively and courageously about what it really means to follow Jesus, what discipleship, church and mission must look like in this context. Many different people from various different cultures find their home in Europe. Many of them are very interested in spiritual questions. We need to build bridges to help all unchurched people to better understand Christian core values. We strive to renew the Mennonite presence in both Zurich and Geneva and to bring in our voice among many Christian voices.

in November 2014 the Swiss Mennonite Conference (KMS/CMS) representing14 Mennonite churches in Switzerland encouraged SMM to develop a concept how to bring up a Mennonite presence in Zurich and Geneva.
